The deceased patients include a 75-year old male from Colombo 14, a 72-year old male from Rathnapura and a 87-year old female from Horana.

Accordingly, the total number of fatalities now stand at 225.

525 cases today

Meanwhile, according to the situation report of the Health Promotion Bureau issued at 09.01pm today (Dec. 08), a total of 525 fresh cases were found within the day. This includes 524 contacts of the Peliyagoda cluster and pushes the number of total infections to 47,305.

It adds that there are 6,763 active cases, 40,317 recoveries and 225 fatalities at the moment.
