Covid-19 vaccine to reach SL in 4 days!

The first consignment of Covid-19 vaccines will arrive from India on Jan. 27, president Gotabaya Rajapaksa says.

500,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines will reach Sri Lanka in this manner, he said.

The president was speaking during the ‘Gama Samaga Pilisandara’ programme held in Walallawita, Kalutara today (January 23).

Yesterday (22), the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) yesterday approved the emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines in Sri Lanka.

Health authorities also announced that a Covid-19 vaccination trial today at three locations, namely at the Piliyandala Medical Office of Health, the Piliyandala District Hospital and the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
