With regard to these investigations the FCID is taking action to initiate legal proceedings on eight cases and confiscate assets.
Currently, assets that has so far been frozen amount to Rs. 2.8 billion.
While investigations have been completed on 21 cases of misappropriation of state funds, the total amount subjected to misappropriation stands at Rs, 8.4 billion.
The assets frozen by the courts according to investigations by the FCID that were misused or misappropriated were by Basil Rajapaksa, Thirukumar Nadesan, Muditha Jayakody, Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Daisy Forest, Isira Dharmapriya Bandara Dassanayake, Chanuka Upendra Ratwatte, Romesha Dushyanthi Senarath, Nandika Sanjeewa Dayaratne, Niloshan Romela Mendis, Udayanga Weeratunge, Vinayagamoorthi Muralitharan, Director, Central Cultural Fund, Gamini Adhikari and parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
In 21 cases of misappropriation of state funds being investigated by the FCID those implicated are; Former National Lotteries Board Director Janaka Sri Warnasinghe, Chairman Chaminda Athaluwage, Tharanga Naveen Weerakone, former Leader of the House of the North Central Province Provincial Council Ananda Sarathkumara Ratnayake, Securities and Exchange Commission former Chairman Nalaka Harshajeewa Godahewa, former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Land Reclamation and Development Corporation Chairman Prasad Harshan de Silva, former Chairman Ceylon Petroleum Ranepura Hewage Samaratunge, former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, former Economic Development Ministry Secretary Nihal Jayatillake, former Director General of Divineguma R.A.A.K. Ranawaka, former Divineguma Finance Director Bandula Tillakasiri, Director General R.A. Amitha Kithsiri Ranawaka, former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, former Sprts Ministry Secretary Nanda Mallawarachchi, Lalith Weeratunge, Anusha Pelpita, Hewa Gunaratne Bhashwara Senanka, D.S. Jayaweera, N.B. Hema Dharmawardena, Ranasinghage Semasinghe Ranawaka, R.R.D.
