Private bus strike postponed Featured

Private bus operators have decided to postpone the planned strike action by a week.

The decision to postpone the strike had been taken after an agreement was reached earlier today (08) morning between bus associations and State Minister of Money & Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms Ajith Nivard Cabraal.

Speaking to media, Gemunu Wijeratne, the Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association said that the State Minister had agreed to solve the issues pertaining to leases and loans of private bus owners by Thursday (11).

However, he warned that the strike would go ahead next week if the matters are not resolved.
