Sri Lanka team administration runs into storm Featured

Asanka Gurusinghe has joined the management of Sri Lanka’s national cricket team as its third serving manager.

As a result, administrating the team has run into a big storm, SLC sources say.

The first manager Charith Senanayake has a contract until September this year with a monthly remuneration of more than Rs. 250,000.

He was suddenly removed from the job two days before the tour of South Africa, and in his place came Ranjit Fernando.

Fernando had been on the job for only 2 ½ month and was receiving a payment of more than Rs. 200,000 per tour.

The latest, Gurusinghe has been given the appointment with a payment of Rs. 500,000.

Accordingly, SLC pays more than Rs. 1.5 million on its team managers.
