6 state institutions to be privatized - Mahinda Featured

Ex-president Mahinda Rajapkasa alleges the existence of an agreement between the government and the IMF to immediately sell off six state institutions to the private sector.

According to him, several rounds of talks in this regard have taken place.

The selling off of the Water Board, Petroleum Corporation, Electricity Board, port, airport and SriLankan Airlines is a national crime, ‘Divaina’ quotes him as saying.

Rajapaksa says the joint opposition and other forces will resort to strong action against the government over this.

The UNP regimes have a history of selling off state assets, he says, adding the present administration is running the country to the wants of the IMF.
