The AMCA has handed over a letter in this regard to the Myanmar embassy in Sri Lanka.

The AMCA has stated that they are deeply saddened by the 'violation of the freedom of expression in Myanmar by means of obstructing the social media and the control of media,' the letter notes.

"We stand with the Myanmar's journalists who are gravely affronted by the anti-democratic military control. We pledge our support in every possible way to those victimised journalists in their struggle for the restoration of their rights," the AMCA adds.
