A doctor’s kindness touches hearts (video)

“The physician's highest calling, his only calling, is to make sick people healthy - to heal, as it is termed,” said German physician - Samuel Hahnemann.
In an age where the welfare of patients become secondary to doctors’ privileges, a kindhearted doctor with such a noble calling has become a hero in social media.
On March 03, Dr. Randil Promod de Alwis of the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama, was on his way to Kurunegala for his sister-in-law’s homecoming when a cow chased by a dog had collided with his car.
Even without pausing to survey the damage to his car, Dr. de Alwis had treated the cow after enlisting the help of bystanders to move the poor animal off the road.
The cow’s front feet had collided with the car and a bone had protruded outside, reports say. He had fixed the foot and was assisted by a technician of the Colombo National Hospital as well as a bystander.
It was only after he treated the cow that he called his insurance company. The vehicle, which was severely damaged had to be towed to a garage.
His generous gesture had touched the hearts of many and certainly restore one’s faith in humanity.
This is a video posted to social media on how Dr. de Alwis had treated the cow.
