COVID-19 deaths pass 700 mark as caseload spikes further Featured

Health authorities have confirmed 13 COVID-19 deaths today (03).

The latest patients to succumb to COVID-19 are : a 44-year old female from Divulapitiya, a 70-year old female from Ja-ela, a 42-year old male from Mawilmada, a 68-year old male from Negombo, a 66-year old male from Malabe, a 82-year old female from Malabe, a 52-year old male from Borella, a 59-year old male from NuwaraEliya, a 79-year old female from Mutwal, a 68-year old male from Nittambuwa, a 69-year old female from Panadura, a 77-year old female from Bulathsinhala and a 80-year old female from Gampaha.

Accordingly, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities is at 709.

Meanwhile, the daily caseload has continued to spike as a new daily high with 1,923 COVID-19 cases reported today (03). The daily high has continued to build up everyday for the last week.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 09.10pm today, the total number of infections is at 113,676.

The report adds that there are 14,771 patients under medical care and 98,209 recoveries at the moment.
