Armed forces develop new facilities as COVID caseload spikes Featured

Army commander Gen. Shavendra Silva says the three armed forces have launched a massive program to build and develop treatment centers to cater to the rising number of COVID-19 patients.
HIs comments come amid concerns growing in the country about the capacity of the health sector to treat the spiking COVID-19 cases across the country.
He said the army is building a new hospital with 1200 beds. This will also have ICU facilities and separate areas to treat family units and as well as Buddhist monks.
Besides, he said three armed forces are engaged in developing treatment centers in every district.
