Another judge recuses from Rishad's FR case

Another judge has recused from the case filed by MP Rishad Bathiudeen and his brother Riyaj Bathiudeen, who were arrested and detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

Justice Yasantha Kodagoda recused from the case when it was taken up before before a panel of Supreme Court judges comprising CJ- Jayantha Jayasuriya and justices S. Thurairajah and Yasantha Kodagoda today (04).

Earlier, Justice Janak De Silva also did the same, stating that he was reluctant to attend the hearing of the petitions as he had served as the Chairman of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter terrorist attack which had made certain recommendations regarding the two petitioners.

The case is to be taken up again on June 11.
