COVID-19 death toll crosses 2,000 mark Featured

Sri Lanka's COVID-19 death toll has passed the 2,000 mark after another 101 cases have been recorded.

This is the highest number of deaths confirmed in a day.

This brings the total death toll in the country to 2,011.

Speaking to media yesterday, President of the All Ceylon Government Medical Officers’ Association - Dr. Gishantha Dassanayake had said that all COVID-19 variants prevalent in the world had been detected in Sri Lanka and the the daily death toll could increase up to 100 to 200 in the future.

He also charged that the imposition of travel restrictions has been a failure, and a facade.
