However, the family earlier revealed that the commemoration ceremony will not be held this year due to the Covid-19 situation.

 

S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, was the fourth Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and founder leader of Sri Lanka Freedom Party. He transformed political history with the 'Pancha Maha Balavegaya' (Five Great Forces) which consisted of the native doctors, clergy, teachers, farmers and workers.

 

After working as Prime minister for 04 years, he was assassinated on 1959 Sep. 26.
