30 Covid-19 treatment centers phased out

The government has decided to phase out Covid-19 treatment centers due to the declining number of Covid patients.

Accordingly, 30 treatment centers have been completely removed from those activities, Covid-19 Coordinator, Director of Technical Services of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Anwar Hamdani has told the media.

Dr. Hamdani said out of the 34,007 beds currently at the treatment centers, 19,660 have been vacated so far, adding that about 40% of the beds in the intensive care units reserved for Covid treatment are now empty. 

He said the decline in the number of Covid patients will be analyzed and steps will be taken to gradually phase out the rest of the treatment centers.
