First consignment of nano nitrogen liquid fertilizer arrive from India (Pics) Featured

The first consignment of nano nitrogen liquid fertilizers from India arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake early today (20).
The consignment of 100,000 litres was brought onboard a SriLankan Airlines A330 - 300 flight (UL 1156) and is the first of the 3.1 million litres of nano fertilizers that is to be imported to Sri Lanka.
500,000 litres are to be imported this week.
In a Tweet, the Indian High Commission in Colombo said that the 'arrival of the first consignment of nano fertilizers from India is yet another instance of our resolve to stand with Sri Lanka in times of urgent need and a vivid example of the vibrant and mutually beneficial partnership between the two sides.'
'Looking forward to a stronger and bigger partnership with Sri Lanka in agriculture and fertilizers as we work together to build a cleaner and greener future,' it adds.

A host of ministers and officials including Minister of Trade - Bandula Gunawardena, State Minister of Agriculture - Shashindra Rajapaksa, State Minister of Civil Aviation and Export Development - DV Chanaka, Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture - Prof. Udith Jayasinghe, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture - Dr. H.S. Ajantha de Silva, Chairman of the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer - Methsiri Gunawardena and the company's general manager - Dr. Jagath Wijeratne had arrived at the airport for the handover of the stock.
