He added that a final decision will be reached after discussions with other affiliated political parties.
Meanwhile, Tamil Progressive Front MP - Mano Ganeshan states that the Finance minister has not submitted any report to the Parliament on the financial situation of the country since December 10, 2021.
Therefore, the SJB has proposed to take some action against him, he noted, adding that SJB affiliated parties are to meet in the next few days to discuss this matter.

Meanwhile, JVP Propaganda secretary - Vijitha Herath stated that the SJB has not informed his party about any no-confidence motion against Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
Noting that they are ever ready to take up the country's reins to salvage it from the current economic crisis, Mr. Herath said that the production cycle should be strengthened at this junction to strengthen the economy.
Noting that the country's foreign debt would be around US$ 21 trillion by the end of this year, he added that it was singular that US$ 8 trillion was obtained during the tenure of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The main issue when overcoming the current crisis, is the lack of foreign exchange, he said.
