Def. Secy confirms MR is in Trinco Naval Base

Defence Secretary Rt. General Kamal Gunaratne today (11) confirmed that Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was escorted to the Trincomalee Naval Base due to security reasons.

The Defence Secretary was speaking at a media briefing today along with the Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, Defence Secretary Gunaratne.

Gunaratne said that the former Prime Minister will be relocated to a place of his choice after the developments in the country eases.
