Former India captain and Captain of the Chennai Super Kings Mahendra Singh Dhoni has predicted Sri Lanka’s Under 19 fast bowler Mathisa Pathirana would shine as an exceptional bowler in the future of international cricket.

Matisha Pathirana, who is playing for Chennai Super Kings led by Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, made his IPL debut against the Gujarat Titans yesterday (15).

Speaking to the media after the match, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has said that Matisha brings back memories of former fast bowler Lasith Malinga in the IPL.

Dhoni further said that Mathisha is a player who should be protected under proper training.

He succeeded in taking a wicket in the first ball of his first over. Taking the wicket of Gujarat Captain Hardik Pandya is also a significant achievement.
