37 students were travelling in the lorry when the accident had taken place.

Residents in the area have been admitted to the Galenbindunuwewa hospital and 03 have been transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.

A spokesperson of the Galenbindunuwewa hospital has said that a foot of a student had been grievously injured. 

Galenbindunuwewa police are engaged in further investigations.
