A bail application submitted by Arjun Aloysius, Director of W.M. Mendis & Company, along with two others, has been rejected.
The trio was sentenced to six months in prison for evading VAT payments.
The trio had sought bail following their sentencing, but the court has decided to deny their request.

Director of W. M. Mendis and Co. – Arjun Aloysius has been sentenced to six months imprisonment for evading VAT payments amounting to Rs. 3.5 billion.
Colombo Additional Magistrate – Bandara Ilangasinghe had delivered the verdict.
Two others were also sentenced to six months in prison for evading VAT payments.
