Three schoolgirls driving a Defender jeep around Colombo, ignoring multiple police orders to stop, have been arrested.
The girls, who are residents of Nawala and Colombo, are students of a leading school in Colombo.
Police have signalled the vehicle to stop at Deans Road in Maradana, Technical College junction and near the Kele Pola area, which were all ignored by the girls.
Subsequently, Police had followed the vehicle and stopped it.
After a heated exchange of words, the girls have been arrested and are to be produced before courts.
Maradana police are conducting further investigations.
