3,000 PHIs to inspect Dansals

Nearly 3,000 Public Health Inspectors (PHI) have been deployed to inspect the dansals held throughout the country in view of the Vesak festival, the Public Health Inspectors Union said.

Its President Upul Rohana said that it is mandatory to register all Dansals.

“We have made all the arrangements necessary for the registration of dansals at the offices of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) during the Vesak festive season. When you visit the MOH office with the details of the Dansala and inform us in writing, we will give you the necessary instructions. We also give necessary recommendations after inspecting the venue. Nearly 3,000 PHIs across the country will inspect the dansals belonging to their divisions on the day before Vesak, on the day of Vesak and the day after,” he said.

No change in Litro Gas prices for December

The Litro Gas Company says that the prices of its domestic LP Gas cylinders will remain unchanged for the month of December 2024.

Chairman of Litro Gas – Channa Gunawardena stated that the company decided to keep the prices of LP gas cylinders unchanged despite the price hike in the global market, in order to provide relief to the consumers.

Accordingly, the prices of Litro LP gas domestic gas cylinders will remain unchanged as follows:

12.5kg – Rs. 3,690
05kg – Rs. 1,482
2.3kg – Rs. 694

Tomorrow’s Parliamentary session to continue until 9.30 pm

It has been decided during the party leaders’ meeting to conduct tomorrow’s (Dec. 04) parliamentary session until 09.30 pm.

Accordingly, the adjournment debate regarding the disaster situation caused by the recent adverse weather conditions will be held from 05.30 pm – 09.30 pm tomorrow.
