Risk of another surge in COVID-19 cases?

Director General of Health Services - Dr. Asela Gunawardena says since there is a risk of another surge in COVID-19 cases in the country, the public must obtain all four vaccine doses.

Speaking at a discussion at the Government Information Department today (05), Dr. Gunawardena said with new COVID-19 variants that are emerging, it is imperative that individuals above the age of 20 obtain the fourth vaccine as well.

Dr. Gunawardena said all individuals above the age of 60 and individuals seeking to travel overseas must obtain the vaccines. He said the vaccines can be obtained at all state hospitals, Medical Offices of Health, and stipulated vaccination centres.
