Public should unite on Aug. 09 - Fonseka

Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP - Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has stated that the public must resolve the prevalent issue even if they will have to stay in Colombo for a month.

Noting that he didn't expect such massive crowds to arrive in Colombo earlier, Fonseka, said that he expects the same to happen on August 09.

Noting that the public should unite when it came to this issue, Fonseka said that they should not fear the state suppression.

Meanwhile, speaking during a media briefing yesterday (29), SJB MP Mujibur Rahman had said that the party had not made any official decision to participate in any decision to participate in any protest on August 9th.

“One has to ask Field Marshal Fonseka as to what made him come out with such a remark,” the MP had said.

Fonseka's remark was also criticized by the 'Sarva Pakshika Aragalakaruwo' as well.

In a statement yesterday, they said that the declaration of dates by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka is merely another extension of 'government conspiracies' and that clearly puts the protestors in danger.
