Private companies to import fuel from November!

The Ministry of Power and Energy is making arrangements to allow the eligible private companies to import, distribute and sell fuel in Sri Lanka by November.


This was revealed at the progress review meeting held on the 20th regarding the programme to handover a part of the 1,250 filling stations currently operated by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to private sector fuel suppliers.

According to the Expression of Interest proposals published in newspapers, 24 companies have submitted proposals. The eligible companies have been selected from the 24 companies to import, distribute and sell fuel in Sri Lanka.
