33 persons have been arrested during the protest staged by the ‘Jana Aragala Viyaparaya’ (People’s Struggle Movement) in Pettah today (March 20).
According to reports, Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) activist Duminda Nagamuwa and youth activist Lahiru Weerasekara are among those arrested during the protest.
Earlier, police had fired tear gas and used water cannons in Pettah, to disperse protesters.
