Special security for treasury over budget 2017 Featured

The treasury is to be provided with special security following information that the budget for 2017 could be met with trouble, reports say.

The acting director general of the treasury has sent a circular in this regard to the treasury secretary, his deputy, public relations secretary of the finance minister and the OIC of the police unit at the treasury.

Law enforcement authorities are due to carry out a two-day thorough search, with the involvement of sniffer dogs, of all buildings and divisions of the treasury starting tomorrow (07).

From the following day, visitors have been restricted to the treasury and meetings have been prohibited other than those chaired by the finance minister, state finance minister and the finance ministry secretary.
