Four persons who were arrested on the grounds of hindering duties of police officers during the recent demolition of the Soul Beach hotel in Dehiwala, have been ordered to be released on bail.
Mt. Lavinia Magistrate – Nilupuli Lankapura yesterday (02) ordered to release them on sureties of Rs. 200,000 each.
The suspects included the Managing Director of Soul Beach – Sampath Aththatage, who is also a well know private tutor.
The magistrate has further stated that if the demolition of the hotel building is illegal, a separate case should be filed in that regard.
She also emphasized that a compensation case should be filed if damage has been caused by the demolition, or a fundamental rights case should be filed or if rights have been violated.
