The carcasses of four sea turtles were discovered along the Delft beach.

A total of 35 carcasses of sea turtles were discovered so far in 2023, The Department of Wildlife Conservation said.

31 sea turtles had washed up along the Western coastline, since August 22.

Three turtles with severe damage to the outer cover were also rescued. They were later directed for treatment.

The post-mortem examinations revealed that this is due to underwater explosions, The Department of Wildlife Conservation said.

A report on the matter has been submitted to the court.
