Four persons have been killed in two seperate shooting incidents last night (March 11).
In both incidents, the assailants on motorbikes had attacked using T-56 firearms, reports say.
In one such incident reported from Guruwala, one person died at the scene while two injured men and a woman were admitted to the Gallida Regional Hospital. Later, another injured person had succumbed.
Pitigala police are conducting further investigations.
In the second incident, reported from Ambalangoda also resulted in two two fatalities with two others sustaining injuries.
The injured victims have been rushed to the Balapitiya Hospital.
