'Nila Mehewara' Galle phase to end in Jan. 2017 Featured

The present phase of the 'Nila Mehewara' National Mobile Service Program aimed at resolving people’s issues in Galle, will conclude in Jan. 2017.

This phase is to conclude on Jan. 14, 20107 at the Siridhamma Vidyalaya in Labuduwa, Galle under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and the participation of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as well as a number of ministers and parliamentarians.

The Program was organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, on the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, under the patronage of Minister Vajira Abeygunawardene.

After the first phase, initiated in 7 divisional secretariats around the Polonnaruwa district, was successfully concluded last month.

A people-friendly project

The significance of this program was issuing birth, marriage and death certificates to the public free of charge. In addition holding medical clinics, distribution of spectacles, solving problems related to Samurdi pensions, providing loans for Small scale business, holding educational seminars, providing scholarships, solving land problems, and providing sports equipments were among the other services made available to the people.
