Shiranthi, Yoshitha to CID over Thajudeen murder! Featured

Former first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa and her son Yoshitha have been ordered to appear before the CID in connection with the murder of rugger player Wasim Thajudeen.

Shiranthi has to give a statement on July 27, and on the following day, Yoshitha will be questioned by the CID, a senior police official told Sri Lanka Mirror.

It comes as political circles are excited over news that a main suspect in the murder case is to turn a state witness.

Also, the media has reported that MP Namal Rajapaksa has had secret talks recently with president Maithripala Sirisena together with western province chief minister Isura Devapriya.

However, Namal yesterday rejected the media reports.
