“Daily Mirror” news on Namal’s Mustang false?

The news reported by the ‘Daily Mirror’ newspaper that the Kaduwela Magistrate and District Attorney Prasanna Alwis had issued instructions to carry out the preliminary process, and release the luxury Mustang sports car which had previously belonged to MP Namal Rajapaksa believed to have been purchased with ill-gotten funds, is untrue, a senior police officer told Sri Lanka Mirror.

What the Magistrate is said to have ordered the FCID was to produce a bank statement with regard to the transactions for the purchase of this vehicle by the 30th, he said.

He further stated that the Court had granted the FCID authority to detain the said motor vehicle for further investigations, he added.
