An attempt to launch a protest dubbed – “Keheliya Go-Gama’ outside the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) premises, demanding the arrest of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, has been foiled with the arrest of five activists.
The activists had been staging a protest outside the CID office in Fort following reports that Minister Rambukwella had been summoned to give a statement over the controversial import of substandard medicines.
However, it was announced by Minister Rambukwella’s media secretary that the minister had sought an alternate date from the CID on the grounds that he was attending to another court matter.
