One person was reported dead in the fire that broke out at a chemical factory in Kandana, Police said.
According to the police, the deceased was a 50-year-old resident of Ganemulla who worked as an accountant in the factory.
Meanwhile, hospital sources said that about 50 school students have been hospitalised due to respiratory complications they developed due to the smoke.
It was reported that the fire brigade, which arrived at the location, is making great efforts to control the fire.
