This will be the first outing in Pakistan by Sri Lanka or any other foreign team since the Sri Lankan players was the target of a terror attack near the same stadium during a tour in March 2009.
Seniors in the team are of the view that Sri Lanka should play Pakistan only after evaluating security once other teams played there.
They accuse authorities of influencing others to play in Pakistan, following their decision to opt out.
Sri Lanka Cricket announced on October 16 that the team would play in the T-20 game in on October 29.
It said the decision was taken pursuant to an extensive security evaluation with the support of authorities of the two countries and independent experts in the past few months as well as ICC recommendations.
SLC chairman Thilanga Sumathipala, who will tour alongside the team, said they would respect if any player decided against playing in Pakistan.
The SLC has decided that only the players willing to play all three T-20 games would be in the team, to be captained by Thissara Perera.
