Lakthilake told Sri Lanka Mirror that the president’s daughter had no connection to the programme.
Also, the firm in question, Media Factory, is not owned by her.
It was the president’s media unit that had done the decorations and the platform for the event, said head of the unit Dharmasri Ekanayake.
Only the television advertisement for ‘Grama Shakthi’ had been done through a private firm, he said.
The owner of Media Factory, a media scheduling firm, is one Kapila Widanagamage, while its former shareholder Prashan Subramaniam has now started a firm of his own.
The firm was previously claimed to be owned by Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
