Six persons have been arrested over the incident where Jaffna MP – Selvarasa Kajendran was assaulted yesterday (19) during a memorial held to commemorate Thileepan.
Trincomalee and China Harbour police have made the arrests based on footage and photos taken of the incident.
The MP himself, had complained to the IGP over the phone, after the incident. Subsequently, a team from the Trincomalee police had gone to officially to the MP, who was in the Thambalagamuwa area, to write down the complaint. Afterwards, investigations had been handed over to the China Harbour police.
