However, the JO will not ally with the SLFP to contest the election, to which the people are in total agreement, he told the media following a discussion at the Wijerama Mawatha official residence of ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa last night (06).
If any issue arises after the election, conditions will be laid down to support forming administrations in a LG body, he said.
Kumar Welgama said the JO would ally with the SLFP only if it left the government, or else the JO would contest on its own.
He said he would criticize anyone with the government when he spoke at the political platform.
Udaya Gammanpila said he could not say who would join the president from the JO, but stressed that he would not be one of them.
Wimal Weerawansa, leader of the National Freedom Front which is having internal conflicts, did not attend the meeting.
Jayantha Samaraweera, who represented Weerawansa, said certain members of his party have been misled.
