7 million doses of Pfizer to expire by Monday

The Ministry of Health says that the remaining doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be disposed using appropriate methods.

Accordingly, approximately 7 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will expire in two days on Monday, the 31st of October.

The Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath said that after Monday, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will no longer be available in the country, until a new batch is imported.

Dr. Herath requested the public to urgently receive their respective first or second booster doses of the Pfizer jab before the vaccines expire.
