Seven Senior DIGs including Ajith Rohana and Lalith Pathinayake have been transferred with immediate effect due to service requirements.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security sanctioned the transfers following approval of the National Police Commission.
Accordingly, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana has been transferred as the Senior DIG in charge of the Eastern Province from SDIG in charge of the Southern Province.
The Police headquarters said SDIG Lalith Pathinayake has been transferred as the Senior DIG in charge of the Central Province from the Police Field Force Headquarters.
Senior DIG in charge of the Central Province Priyantha Weerasuriya has been appointed as the SDIG Crimes and Traffic Division while the Crimes and Traffic Division Senior DIG LKWK Silva has been transferred to the Police Field Force Headquarters.
Furthermore, SDIG Sajeewa Medawata has been transferred as the SDIG Southern Province from Sabaragamuwa Province.
The Police headquarters added that Senior DIG in charge of the Eastern Province Kithsiri Jayalath and Senior DIG Ranmal Kodithuwakku have also been issued transfers based on service requirements.
