A total of 709 people have died in road accidents in the first four months of this year, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.
He said that the highest number of accidents were motorcycle accidents.
“As of April 30, 2023, 8,202 accidents have occurred. There have been 667 fatal accidents in which 709 people died. A total of 2,160 serious accidents and 3,201 minor accidents have occurred.”
“The highest number of people who died were motorcyclists. Out of the 709 people who died, 220 were motorcyclists, 102 were passengers and 179 were pedestrians.”
“Most of these fatal accidents are caused by motorcyclists followed by three-wheelers. Therefore, it is very important for the motorcyclists as well as three-wheeler drivers to pay more attention to traffic rules,” he said.
