A 72-year-old male has been arrested by police at Akmeemana over the possession of several firearms and ammunition rounds.
The suspect has been arrested by the Western Province (South) Crimes Division of Sri Lanka Police.
He has been taken into custody over the possession of a pistol, a revolver, a repeater shotgun, an air rifle and 49 rounds of shotgun ammunition, police said.
