SLFP MPs who opposed PM seek dignity Featured

MP Chandima Weerakkody urges the SLFP to safeguard the dignity of the party MPs who opposed the PM at the no-confidence vote.

Weerakkody is commenting on the appointment of a party committee for the continuation of the government, according to Hiru News.

On 21 August 2015, the UNP and the SLFP signed a 10-point agreement valid for a two year period, which could be renewed with mutual consent.

After the agreement’s term ended, both parties said the government should continue.

Meanwhile, UPFA general secretary Mahinda Amaraweera says they will work with the president for the government’s continuation.

Addressing a public rally in Tangalle, Amaraweera said he was prepared to reveal the truth with regard to the SLFP MPs who opposed the PM at the no-confidence vote.
