85,000 apply for Korean Language Test

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) said that 85,072 youths have applied for the Korean language test to be held this year to select Sri Lankans for jobs in the manufacturing and fishing sectors in South Korea.

The SLBFE said that this is the highest number of people who have applied for the language test so far.

The number of applicants who appeared for the Korean language proficiency test last year was about 31,378, and in comparison a large number of applicants have applied for the exam this year.

The SLBFE has already commenced the issuance of admission papers and more than 13,000 youths have already obtained admissions.

The Korean Language Proficiency Test for jobs in the manufacturing sector is scheduled to commence on March 13, and the test for jobs in the fishing sector is scheduled to commence on September 1.

These exams are scheduled to be held at the Korean Examination Center, Pannipitiya.
