Postal strike to continue as talks fail Featured

With today’s (25) talks with the authorities ending inconclusively, postal trade unions say they will continue with their strike action and the ongoing fasting campaign will be turned into a fast-unto-death.

However, posts minister A.H.M. Haleem says the problems of postal workers would be given solutions tomorrow.

Postal workers are striking work for 15 days now to demand job permanency and promotions, which they claim, had been denied to them by a public administration circular.

They staged a protest in front of the posts ministry this afternoon, where representatives of teacher, principal and port trade unions too, joined in.
