JO threatens to stir up parliament! Featured

The Joint Opposition MP group are planning of stirring up parliamentary sittings today if the Opposition Leader post is not given to a member of their group which they claim have the highest majority of opposition members.

According to MP Ranjith Soysa of the Joint Opposition, The JO group have the legitimate right to hold the post of Opposition Leader as they hold the majority, and if the Speaker fails to respond positively to their request for the Opposition Leader post, they threatened to disrupt parliamentary sittings and fight for their rights from today.

He said so far the JO had sent three letters to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya in this regard hoped that they would receive a favourable response from him in parliament today.

However, he noted that if not, they would commence their agitation not just in parliament but beyond too.
