A/L exam results within May – June!

Results of the 2023 GCE Advanced Level Examination will be released within May – June this year, before conducting the 2024 GCE Ordinary Level examination, Minister of Education – Susil Premajayantha says.

He said this during the national program for the distribution of free school textbooks and uniforms, held today (Feb. 14).

He also added that the 2024 G.C.E. A/L exam will also be held before next year, bringing all exams back on track.

He further noted that all measures will be taken to start the 2025 new school term in January as usual.

Four Sri Lankan players have been included in the ICC men’s ODI team of 2024.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Also, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain while Kusal Mendis has been named as the wicket keeper of the team.

2 including Salochana Gamage granted bail

Two persons including former Western Provincial Councillor – Salochana Gamage, who were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24).

Each suspect was granted bail, subject to a cash bail of Rs. 25,000, two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each, and an overseas travel ban.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali also ordered that the guarantors must be close relatives of the two suspects.
