An accident involving the vehicle of Member of Parliament Ali Sabri Raheem has resulted in one person sustaining injuries, as reported by Saliyawewa Police. The incident occurred around 1:00 am today (13) near the 15th Mile Post on the Puttalam – Anuradhapura Road.
The injured individual has been identified as H.M. Harshana Pradeep, a resident of Upper Puliyankulam in Aluthgama. He has been admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for medical treatment.
MP Ali Sabri Raheem was traveling from Puttalam towards Anuradhapura when the accident transpired. The collision took place between the MP’s car and the rear of a hand tractor moving in the same direction.
Both the individual driving the hand tractor and the driver of the MP’s car sustained injuries in the accident. The driver of the MP’s car has been apprehended by Saliyawewa Police in connection with the incident.
As investigations unfold, Saliyawewa Police are diligently probing the circumstances surrounding the accident to establish the sequence of events and assess responsibility.
