Cabinet approval has been granted to immediately appoint a new Director General for the Government Information Department on a full-time acting basis.
The decision follows the recent resignation of the former DG – Dinith Chinthaka Karunarathne.
Buddhism, Religious and Cultural Affairs, National Integration, Social Security and Mass Media Minister had proposed to appoint H.S.K.J. Bandara to the post.
Bandara is a Grade I officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service who serves as Director (Admin) of the Department of Government Information at present.
